Today in media I learnt how to do this smoky visual effect.

2) I then downloaded the fonts opened it and dragged it on to After effects.
1) The first thing i did was go on DaFront.com and dowload a image i liked.
3) I downloaded a link that was given to us by sir. It was a zip file which had these smoky visuals i had to use to practice on AE.
After Effect Workshop

The first thing I did was open after effects and type my name in.
I then downloaded two video one with black ink and the other with colour.
The next think I did was stretch both videos by clicking on it to make it bigger.
After I scaled them both by clicking on command s and then bring it back to 6-7 secs.
After that I went on effects to linear colour key add both effects. I then clicked on key colour to get rid of the white background.
I then brought down the duration of the video to 7 secs to make it faster.
I then clicked on shift command c to merge it together. I also brought my name in front of colour by dropping the layer.
lastly, I then clicked on alpha matte to smoke in the in my name.

Music video analysis
I really like this music video because it is really aesthetically pleasing to watch. This song for me was the highlight of 2019 so it was a no brainer to pick it. I just love the way it was directed every part of the song building up a story to watch. I really love how it was shot filmed, edited and directed just so amazing to watch.
This music video is a 4:3 music video giving me old horror movie vibes. This music video is a perfect vibe for halloween and it almost reminds of Michael Jacksons thriller, they may have taken inspiration.
This is a music video I also like even though I don't understand it I just love the way it is filmed I feel like it, it was directed perfectly as tell a story in every scene. I stumbled across this song during quarantine in 2020 when I was looking for a new song to listen to. I didn't get the song ,I don't understand it but I was so captivated by the way it shot its so aesthetically pleasing making me wanting to go to sunny La.
I also liked this music video as it is well choreographed the dancing is amazing. I also like this one because each person in this boy band has their own unique costume to wear. another thing that i liked is that it was directed really everyone knows what to do. This music was extremely high budget.
This is a song called false prophets by j.cole. This song is very mellow chill rap song with a deep meaning. some of the rappers, which he once idolised, as being like the false prophets that crave adoration and famous people leading the youth to dark path. This is directed by Scott Lazer, this music video didn't take as much as other this one is more of him walking around this city he is from and recording rich culture that it has there really is one fixed scene of him the bus rapping.
This is also another low budget music just him and friends hanging out having fun. This song is directed by vashite.
Photoshop - intro
The first thing I did was change the solid background from white to black. The way to do this is by using the paint bucket tool and fill the background.
The next thing I did was use the the eclipse tool draw out a circle. I also changed the colour from white to a lime green.
The next thing i did was click on the fx button and went and went on outer glow here are the presets for it.
I download a font called bjork as I felt it worked well with Poster I made. I the changed the colour of my poster to purple and put a out glow effect
The next thing I did was down picture of the subject I'll be usig and use the pen tool to cut them. I also used the magic pen tool get rid of any other stuff
I add a new layer by clicking on the plus side the next thing i did was use the brush tool and chose two colours that worked well. I then turned up the brush colour and coloured in a large surface area.
Here is the final outcome.
Gradient overlay
The first thing I did was download the picture I wanted to use. I chose the rapper kendrick Lamar.
To do this overlay you have to use the overlay effect you have to use the gradient tool.
The next thing I did was choose the pen tool cut out the back ground as i didn't want it. The colour was originally black, i had some parts of the original background. To solve this problem I used the eye dropper tool to match the colour.
the last thing I did was add some text.
Equipment used in film
cameras:
Film camera is important to a film because that is what youre going to use to record your film. There are many types of camera for example, Canon XF605 is film camera that you can be hand held.

Lens:
Lens are also important this what you use of the movie. 28mm lens has been a standard in shooting motion pictures for over a century, being used to capture some of the most recognisable moments in cinematic history.
Tripods:
This is a tripod stand for a camera. This is a 3 legged stand that helps support the camera. It can be used to hold the camera still when shooting a shot for a video
Microphone:
Microphone is important because it needs to capture sound for the film so the audience can feel an emotion. This is a Rode long shotgun Microphone. It is long and narrow tube with Slits evenly spaced along each side and a capsule near the rear end. This mic is attached on the camera and its purpose it to capture long distance low level noise its can be found on animal documentaries.
Lighting:
Lighting is important to fill dark spots in a specific area. for example, A soft box is a light modifier that confines light from an artificial source into a wire framed box and releases it through a layer of diffusion. Soft boxes are commonly used in photography as a soft source of light that minimiese harsh shadows.
Shot Sizes
extreme long shot:
This is when a character is shot from very far away – thus the emphasis is upon their relation to the environment
long shot:
•This is a shot that contains the whole human figure. this provides context for the character but is more intimate that the Extreme Long Shot.
Medium long shot :
This is a shot that is taken of the subject from the knees up. Allows emphasis on the subject.
Medium shot:
This is when a shot is taken from approximately the waist up. in a lot of cowboy movie the use of the hip level shot it is used a lot the reason for this is because the gun holster is at hip level. for the hip level camera angle the camera is placed at hip level around your waist It Makes things extremely intense and exciting
Medium close up:
This is also called a head and shoulders shot. this shot is a camera angle that is as high as your subjects shoulders. shoulder level shots are actually much more standard then an eye level shot ,also can make actor seem shorter than their actually are or show a height difference. Shoulder shot are usually used during a characters dialogue with another character, also it can show a character romance
close up:
This places emphasis on the face or other part of the body. it can give you sense of engagement to the scene.
Extreme close up:
This shot is super close to the persons face.. This can prove very symbolic and also can create an abstract feel. This can prove very symbolic and also can create an abstract feel.
Non-linear music video
The first thing I did was download all the stock video and the song I wanted to use. The song I decided to use was dua lipa.
The next thing I did was put all the video on beat so it looks clean.
I removed the sound from the original clip by right clicking on the original clip then unlinking it so its unattached from the original video.
The next thing I did was use the razor tool and chop up the stock video.
After I was done with my work i saved it and exported it.
J & L cuts
In a J cut, the next scene's audio plays before the image changes. With L cuts, the audio from the preceding scene carries over, and then the visuals shift.
This picture was taken from the waist down, a shoulder shot. The focus of the photo is on the subjects shirts logo. Its a normal model picture trying to sell the shirt.
Photo Shots
In todays lesson we used the DLSR camera and we were tasked to go out, learn how to use the camera and take as much pictures as we possibly can. Here are Pictures I took.
This picture was taken from downwards shot it taken from shoulder shot.
This is a normal shoulder picture taken from the shoulder up. The focus of the picture is the mainly on the subject, everything else doesn't matter as it blurred up. It's also taken at a slight angle so it can create more of aesthetic more pleasant to look at it.

Camera movement.
The 180* degree rule is when two camera over 2 characters shoulder. its filming from both perspectives but the audience cant see.
This a zoom shot this when the camera is up close to the characters face
a pan shot is when the camera is moving with a fast target. for example, if a bike is moving the camera follow as well.
This a shot that is shot with a tilt the point of this is to make the viewer feel uneasy to signal something is wrong and unsettling.
the camera can move forward, backward, or alongside a subject. it is also known as a tracking shot.
This is a pedestal shot. when the camera is all the way down to the ground this camera angle is used a lot to feature a characters walking with out actually revealing their face. this could capture detail within a scene this keeps the audience to the edge of their seat waiting to see what happens next.
Music poster analysis
what is a poster? A poster is usually a large printed sheet that often contains pictures and is posted in a public place to promote something.
This is a ACDC poster this is an older picture so there isn't much colour on the people in it. Its has minimal design to it, it just tells you who they are with large fonts its also tells you the price to get in. The poster does its purpose.
This is a poster of the spice girls I think this poster is really neat. It's also simple with a solid white background the members of the group match with each colour of the letters. I think they did this to give the members Individuality and show off their personality.
I think the poster is cool, I think it really works for the time as it gives of this 70s rock/hippie vibes and even looks like something a circus would show. There many colours like the solid black background with the rainbow and large red font showing the main acts name.
this also another poster that caught my attention as it was really different from traditional posters that I saw. The thing that really caught my attention was the colours choice the designer choice as they are many hot pinks ,yellow, blue, black, purple & white. There istext gives me a very modern early 2010s vibes because of the font use and I also think this because its a business magazine.
This is a poster of jimmi hendrix who is a very famous musician. The poster has many different colours that compliment each other for example the lime green colour with bright hot pink pop out the most. I think the poster is pop art inspired because some parts for example the shirt seems like it,s drawn on or printed.
Audition
The first thing I did was was click on multitrack so i can start my work.
After that I got my razor tool and started to chop it up get rid of unwanted parts.
The next thing I did was add the tyre screech and i put in a loop so i can sound more realistic. I also adjust the volumes.
I then saved and exported the sound to premiere pro.
The Next thing I did was drag the video in so I can use it as reference.
The next thing I did was lower each volume by double clicking on the volume line
After I was finished I adjust all the volumes and deleted all the unnecessary and un-need sound or footage.
After I got the individual sound for the video i put it both on premiere pro and saved it as a video

I got my videos in and unlinked the original sound i can get them all together for a rough cut.
I gave some sound effect give the audience much more feelings
I sped up the duration of the video as i thought it was bit too fast.
I added a new font that i found called bjork and used it as the title.
Has American culture influenced British music?
American culture has heavily influenced the uk. For example, in the uk the constant stream of American tv shows, films, songs and computer games have spread American words and expression in the uk.

Who decides what is good music?
"Music is subjective, so what i listen to you may not like it and vice versa. The google definition of a good song is: needs to have great chords, melodies, and lyrics, but also should create some sort of reaction, or evoke a specific emotion".
Are musicians paid more than NHS worker and is it justifiable?
I think musicians righty paid in their field of work because they get booked for shows, sponsors and things of that nature so they'll obviously get paid more.

The World
The First thing I did was colour the world map. Using the bucket tool colouring the map.
The next thing I did move to After effects so i can 3D animate it.
The next thing I did was search up the effect CC sphere which turned my 2D map in to a globe.

How to do Pop Art on Photoshop
The first thing I did was choose a picture. After that I duplicated it by pressing command J so i can start painting.
The next thing I did was use different colours to start my pop art i chose pink, blue and green
After i was done I darkened my first layer so I can being the pop art look
I then went on layers, adjustment and i clicked on threshold on my second layer. I played around with it to see what worked well with it.

The direction of light refers to the path where the light source comes from and where it lands .Lighting is important to film because it creates a visual mood, atmosphere, and sense of meaning for the audience.

what is 3 point lighting? Three-point lighting is a traditional method for illuminating a subject in a scene with light sources from three distinct positions. You could use this in film to create atmosphere or emotion. you could also use it in photography. There are 3 types of 3 point lighting key light, fill light, and blacklight.
